The Maine Department of Education’s #MaineTeachesCS initiative’s stated mission is to “expand awareness of the values and importance of computer science education in every classroom and for every student by ensuring teachers have the resources and support they need to effectively integrate computer science in their classrooms and engage their students in computational thinking.” In keeping with this mission, in 2022 the MLTI team launched Computer Science Mobile Lab kits, allowing schools to choose kits from 3 categories, Integrated Augmented and Virtual Reality, Robotics and Programming, and Integrating Coding & Hardware. Come discuss with us our key goals on integration, learn what our strategies and ideas are, share feedback on your successes and struggles with kids in your school, and discover new ways to use the kits in your classroom!
